A little Sunday treat. Clint and Jo. Gorgeously in love.
Guess what!? We come home to NZ in less than one week! I suppose we are not allowed to be missing home too much….seeing that it’s winter and meanwhile we’ve been travelling through the most amazing European countries for the past few months…but the truth is, we’re getting a little bit tired. We miss our own sheets. The feel of our pillows. Breakfasts at Shakey Isles. Our friends……and Spencer!! We miss Spencer like crazy! Alex’s mum says she’s become too comfortable at her house…she doesn’t want to leave. She’s joking – we hope :-)
Before we left we were lucky enough to photograph Sarah and Dan’s wedding at Mantell’s in Auckland. Isn’t she stunning!? Don’t they both look incredible!? Mantell’s is always such an awesome venue. We love it there and on this particular day we had a blast! There’s something about looking back on the photographs of Sarah and Dan’s big day. They feel so classic and timeless. I suppose it doesn’t hurt that Sarah and Dan are both mega babes too and every little detail of the day was just perfectly fitting. We didn’t manage to take all of our work overseas with us as we travelled….but here’s just a handful of our favourites from the day.
From the moment we sat down to meet with Steph and Nick for the first time over a glass of wine at their home….we knew that their wedding would be something special! No, wait! We knew that they were someone special and we’re so glad that we got that chance to meet! We still remember that evening like yesterday! While Alex oogled at Nick’s amazing bicycle in the corner of the lounge (Nick’s a cyclist…and Alex likes to think he is), Steph caught Coralee’s attention with discussion of pretty fall colors and debated of which tone for the flowing bridesmaid dresses would best suit the style of the day. Well, as you can imagine…..everything worked out perfectly! Last week in London we were fortunate enough to meet up personally with Steph and Nick as our paths briefly crossed on our overseas adventures. Since the wedding the lovely couple have been travelling far and wide. As a matter of fact…we wake up each morning checking to see their facebook pages for tales and photographs of African safaris, Parisian restaurants and riding bicycles in the south of france! Steph, Nick….we hope you’re having fun! We haven’t been to that restaurant yet!
The wedding day was incredible!…Amazing!…Stunning!…As perfect as a wedding day celebration could possibly be. Coralee spent the morning at The Estate, Waiheke (we can’t speak highly enough about this venue) while Alex hung out with the guys at a house nearby. We love starting the day independently with the bride and groom. Our experiences are inevitably so different. Coralee relaxed with the girls while Alex adventured out with the boys for a spot of archery and target shooting and a couple of brews of course! The autumn day was crisp and the courtyard at The Estate where the ceremony took place provided some welcome shade from the sun before the bridal party and guest spilled out onto the front lawn to celebrate while taking in the breathtaking views over Church Bay.
We took off with the bridal party just down the road to make the most of the disappearing sun and discovered a little vineyard that made for some pretty awesome photographs of the happy couple. But the day hadn’t ended yet. It had barely begun. Under the shelter of a giant marquee…..Steph, Nick and their family and friends partied the night away. It was a PARTY, that’s for sure. Alex’s favourite part of the wedding day to photograph! Everyone danced. Things got a little crazy….we danced some more (yup, we danced too!) and then Steph and Nick departed under an archway of guests arms and a shower of petals. Perfect!
Steph and Nick are travelling with their trusty iPad and I have a feeling that the images we gave them were a bit too much for the wee iPad to handle….this might be the first of their wedding they’ve seen too!
Steph, Nick….it was great to see you both. Great to meet you, your family and friends. Great to be there to celebrate with you…We are honoured we could be there and a part of the day. Enjoy your travels…and we hope you enjoy reliving the wedding day through these images as much as we did!
