Aah, Stacey and Gareth’s wedding day. One of our final weddings of 2012 and it was pretty much a day full of awesomeness! I dropped Coralee off in Matakana at the cutest little wooden cabin where Stacey and the girls were busy preparing for the day. Definitely an epic place to get ready. I didn’t dare pop my head into the girls’ zone….but quickly dropped Coralee off and headed towards Omaha Beach were Gareth and his groomsmen were staying. I arrived to a relaxed house of boys enjoying a beer. There might have even been cricket on TV. It took them no time at all to get into their suits and they topped it off with some awesome looking boutineers. So far this morning – I actually felt like I was inside Pinterest. Haha….everything just looked SO good!
Arriving at the venue we were, of course, greeted with so much more beautifulness it was difficult to take it all in. The yellow and grey theme just looked stunning! There was cute bunting for miles and the most amazing flowers adorning tables and decks and bars and everywhere imaginable. Stacey and Gareth’s ceremony took place on a lawn, in front of a tree covered in yellow ribbons rustling in the wind. To get to the lawn at Brick Bay you have to walk down a tree-covered lane. The trees have these crazy painted blue trunks. Its pretty surreal.
At Brick Bay you’re simply spoilt for choice with locations to take a bridal party for photos and we explored some of the gravelly pathways with art hiding around every corner. It was a GREAT afternoon. And then there was the reception…the party…the speeches…the dancing. What can we say!? The most good looking, friendly, smiling couple…..an incredible group of family and friends…..the most stunningly decorated venue……it was just a freaking awesome day. We feel blessed to have met these two and utterly honored that they chose us to be there and celebrate with everyone and tell the story in photographs!
Stacey, Gareth…we can’t thank you enough. I’m just packing up a little box of goodies for you now and am going to jump in my truck and pop them in your letterbox in person! We hope you enjoy your photographs as much as we enjoyed making them that day with you both :-)
